Whirlpool cakes

It seems like Whirlpool is not about cooking. Neither are the WTA Players - Agnieszka Radwańska and Elena Vesnina...

Funny how the better player on court (Radwańska that is) is also the better cook... Elena, as much as we love you - please, don't try being creative!

Nikolay Davydenko proved once again to his doubters, that he ain't over til it's over. He won the Masters Series event in Shanghai, by beating Novak Djokovic in teh semis and Rafael Nadal in the final. And while he achieved one of his greatest succeses on Tour, he won also a few hearts...

Especially the one of his wife :)

Players Party in Beijing

The players party in Beijing looked kinda stiff, but whatever - they managed to gather all the big names there, so give them some credit. At least the players had each other, so that they could to talk to someone. Anyone.

Here's the video, that makes it look less boring. Don't get fooled.

Why are the ATP players hitting Ayumi???

Poor Ayumi Morita, like she didn't suffer enough this season with all her injuries, now the ATP players are giving her a hard time... Is this how they promote ATP in Japan or is it a simpe act of WTA bashing? Still, it seems like Lleyton Hewitt, Juan Martin Del Potro, Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga enjoyed it ;)

It's party time

It's definitely not the best year for Rafael Nadal. Although he captured first ever Australian Open title, from that moment on everything got worse. Serious knees injury appeared again, his parents got divorced, he lost in the 4th round of his favourite French Open and was forced to withdraw from Wimbledon. The Clay King cameback strongly during US Open reaching semifinal, but he got another injury. This time he had abdominal problems.

During those weeks that he spend at home, when he couldn't even play tennis, Rafa had a lot of free time. As it seems from the pictures, Rafa went to some really good parties...

Let us remind you what did Nadal say when asked during US 09 about being drunk:
Axèle: Do you smoke and have you ever been drunk?
RN: Never smoke, I really hate it, and I have not been really drunk.

Really? ;)
Good to see that Rafa had some fun!

Friends with masks

Time and again we hear that the WTA Tour is only about competition and that there is no place left for friendship. Few days ago we could witness Ai Sugiyama's goodbye ceremony in Tokio. Many players showed up just to be there, when the Japanese ends her career and shed some tears with her. Now we've got further evidence of friendship egzistang on Tour - Caroline Wozniacki and the Radwańska sisters - Agnieszka and Urszula - had some fun trying out masks. Good to see the girls hanging out with each other!

Cellphone curse

There's something wrong with the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour at the moment. The marky players are not able to compete at their highest level and are losing in their first rounds time after time right now. The plague hit the premier event in Tokio the hardest. With 9 of the worlds top 10 players at start, only two managed to win their first match. Terrible stats. Now, the Argwus Team found out a possible reason for their slupms - the stars are spending too much time, playing with their cellphones. Do we have a mobile phone curse? Just look at that...

No.1 Dinara Saina lost her 1st match to a qualifier Chang 6/7 6/4 5/7

No.2 Venus Williams lost her 1st match to qualifier Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6/7 5/7

No.4 Caroline Wozniacki lost her first match to Aleksandra Wozniak

No.6 Vera Zvonareva lost her 1st match to Alisa Kleybanova 6/3 4/6 2/6

No.12 Samantha Stosur lost her 2nd match to Maria Sharapova 0/6 1/6

No.13 Nadia Petrova lost her 2nd match to Magdalena Rybarikova 2/6 2/6

Pennetta on catwalk

Flavia Pennetta made history for Italian tennis as she reached the Top 10 as the first Italian woman ever. Pennetta comes of a fantastic summer, where she won 2 titles and reached three further semifinals, notching many top ten wins underway. After a second quartefinal finish at the US Open in a row, she went back to Italy to finally celebrate. Oh and by the way - did I mention she's looking hotter than ever? Here you can see her at a runway in Milan during a presentation of Pin-Up Stars' Spring/Summer 2010 women's collection.

Murray Calendar for 2010

World No. 3 Andy Murray has released his official 2010 calendar.

"Mr Murray has come of age and at last Britain has a contender with more than a little tennis know how and the muscles to pull it off. If you fancy spending a year in the company of a serious pair of biceps then look no further. Not just for Scots." - says the description.
