Mashona arrested

Former top 50 player Mashona Washington done lately some damage (and who knows - it might have been with the racquet...). The American has been arrested after her doubles match at Indian Wells on suspicion of felony vandalism, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Washington and her doubles partner Bethanie Mattek Sands lost today to Nuria Llagostera Vives and Maria Martinez Sanchez. Later in the day she was arrested at her hotel, the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells according to the Desert Sun.

The charge is specific to damage estimated $5,000 or more, jail records stataed. The 32 year old was released in lieu of $5,000 bail (funny fact - she only earned $3,512 this year) . Now she is scheduled to be arraigned May 14th.

It's difficult to imagine, that the tournaments Mashona will want to attend in the future, will be willing to provide her with a hotel...
