Hawk-Eye goes blind

At 4 all in the second set of the encounter betwen Andy Murray and Ivan Ljubicic, the Scot challenged a call when he had a break point. Hawk-Eye showed the ball on the line but unfortunetly it was the second bounce. The men responsible for showing Hawk-Eye replays on the screen, had missed the fact that Murray's shot first bounced outside the line and then on the line.

"I didn't play the ball because it was clearly out" said Ljubicic.

"The operator showed a second bounce instead of the first. It's just human error, and it's frustrating when you see such a clear mistake. We really wanted to take control of the human error with that machine, and then you have a human error of the operator who is controlling that machine. It's a strange situation."

"I just kept thinking about it. I couldn't believe what was happening." he added.

"Obviously I got pretty lucky. It wasn't the technology problem. It was sort of human error, which can happen with line calls. But I don't think it had a huge bearing on the outcome or the result." said Murray.

Suddenly the margin of error changed from 0,4 cm to 0,5... metres. Anyway, it wasn't the best gift for birthday which the Croat had yesterday.
