Three time Grand Slam champion
Maria Sharapova has officialy pulled out of the Sony Ericsson Open. The tournament in Miami announced their players field and the Russian wasn't in it.
The former world No.1, who was sidelined from the WTA Tour from August, because of a shoulder injury, will now be preparing for the claycourt season. She is believed to be starting her singles comeback in Rome and then continue it in Madrid.
Sharapova tried to pull off some sort of semi comeback as she played doubles with
Elena Vesnina at Indian Wells, but lost in her 1st round match. Poor Lena, who risked to play with Masha at a tournament, where she was title defender. Now all those pretty points are gone...
