"With women's professional tennis more popular than ever, the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in the strongest business position in its history and with a fantastic senior management team in place, now is the right time for me to embrace a new challenge consistent with my family and personal goals, and leave room for the next generation of Tour leadership to take on new responsibilities," said Scott.
Scott's list of accomplishments is almost endless. The thing, that he'll be most remembered for is the equaling the prize money for men and women at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. He also signed up many, many succesfull deals and launched the Tour's largest global marketing campaign "Looking for a hero". Having done so many thing for the Tour and the players, he will be missed by the players.
"I'm sad to see Larry move on in his professional career. He has been a strong visionary leader for the Tour and done so much for players. I wish him and his family all the best in the next chapter in their lives." - said Serena Williams.
Let's just hope the WTA Tour won't hire such an idiot like Etienne de Villers, who will destroy it's beauty. We really like the Race to the Championships ranking. Just leave it!
