The 25-year-old Belgian will "unveil her plans for the 2009 season" at the tennis centre in her home town of Bree north of Brussels where she has been training in recent weeks, a statement issued on her behalf said.
The Associated Press reports that Kim Clijsters has talked with the USTA about obtaining a wild card entry into this year's U.S. Open. She is also considering asking for wildcards into Cincinnati and Toronto, added the source. Her former coach Carl Maes told Reuters last week that Clijsters, who retired in May 2007 before marrying basketball player Brian Lynch and giving birth to a daughter, could return to the WTA tour. Lindsay Davenport also suggested, that she believes in a Kim comeback after the Belgian asked Davenport via e-mail for tips on how to travel the Tour with a baby.
Kim already said she would participate in the World Team Tennis in the States this summer. In May she will play an exhibition match with Tim Henman against Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi at Wimbledon.
Well, the world is more than ready for a Clijsters comeback, let's hope that Thursday we will get the good news. Keep your fingers crossed, guys!!!
