The return of Kimiko Date

Japan's most accomplished singles player Kimiko Date is about to make a comeback to the WTA Tour at the age of 37 . After retiring 12 year's ago, the former World No.4 is due to make a formal announcement at a news conference on Monday.

In the mid 90's Date reached the semifinal stage at Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. She also made the quarters at US Open. The Japanese won 7 singles titles and got up to No.4 in the Rankings.

It seems like it has become very trendy to make a very late comeback to the WTA Tour, so maybe we're gonna see Navratilova coming back soon...
