Petrova seeing strange people

The 2007 tennis year will be mostly remembered due to the betting scandal that took place after Nikolay Davydenko unexpected lost a 2r match to Martin Vassallo-Arguello in Sopot. After the press got news on the possibility of gambling by Davydenko the ATP started a long term investigation against all sinners, who want to make profit by selling matches and betting on their losses.
What looked to be a problem only on the ATP-Tour, started to be also an issue on the Sony Ericsson WTA-Tour after Nadia Petrova revealed, that she heard about people making offers to the players to sell matches.
“I’ve heard some gossip the last couple of years, but it’s not at the big tournament or big matches,” she said “But last year I saw some suspicious people who started traveling and coming to the tournaments. Maybe they did approach some people, or over Internet, but thank god I never got called."
